Win Boundless Activated Nuts & Seeds | A Giveaway (Ended)

20th November 2020

I’ve always read that when it comes to nuts and seeds you should choose ones that are ‘activated’, meaning that they have been soaked in salt and water to start off the germination or sprouting process and then dehydrated at low temperatures. This makes the nuts and seeds much more nutritious as well as a lot easier for our bodies to digest and get nutrients from.

I’ve always struggled to find nuts and seeds like this though, and if I do manage to then they are incredibly expensive so I don’t tend to get as many health benefits from them as I should and as I would like.

Boundless is a new brand who have created some very tasty nut and seed snacks that are activated meaning that their flavourful range of nuts and seed mixes are really nutritious and gut-friendly too, as they are lighter on the tummy.

Raw nuts and seeds are a brilliant healthy snack, as they have lots of protein, healthy fats, fibre and important minerals. But raw nuts and seeds contain phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors that can reduce the absorption of nutrients properly.

Boundless follow a 3-step (FAB!) process to create their snacks:

FLOOD – They drench the nuts and seeds in water to kick start nature’s natural germination process
ACTIVATE – A good soak removes the bitter phytic acid and protective enzymes enabling better
digestion
BAKE – They gently bake using natural ingredients for a fuller flavour and lighter crunch

They have 4 super-tasty flavours made up of blends and spices — Turmeric & Smoked Paprika (my favourite I think), Tamari & Aleppo, Cayenne & Rosemary and Orange, Ginger & Maple.

They are such a lovely, crunchy snack and the four flavours are really bold, plus they are filling and really good for us and I find them very satisfying.

They are also great for enjoying as a healthy and tasty topping, for example with avocado on toast, or in your morning porridge (particularly Orange, Ginger & Maple flavour), or with salads or soups!

Boundless nuts and seeds are all natural, high in protein, gluten-free and suitable for vegans, and cheaper than most healthy snacks too — especially for activated nuts and seeds.

The range of Boundless Activated Nuts and Seeds is available in Sainsbury’s and Holland & Barrett at £1 for a 30g bag. Find out more: weareboundless.co.uk.

Probably tamari and aleppo as I think tamari is what makes the seeds in the shaker at Itsu so tasty and I always tip loads of them on my meals when I eat there. I’ve seen some of these in Holland and Barrett, but they didn’t have that flavour there, so I think the one I tried instead was the cayenne and rosemary. Whatever it was, it was nice.
