The Benefits of Taking Ancient Algae – Mineral London seamoss+ Review & Giveaway (Ended)

20th July 2021

Until I spoke to Misha, the owner of this Hackney-based company, I had never heard of sea moss or Chondrus crispus to go by its scientific name.

It’s likely to be something we hear about more and more though as it is tipped to be the next big superfood, and there is some great research being carried out on its benefits. Early research even shows that sea moss may be able to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease, which would be incredible. It has actually been consumed for centuries, though, due to its high nutritional content.

You know me – I love trying different supplements that could really benefit my health, give me more energy, help me sleep better, give me amazing skin or all of the above!

What is sea moss?

Sea moss is a type of red algae that grows on the Atlantic coastlines of Europe, North America, and the Caribbean Islands. It is sometimes known as Irish moss or red seaweed and it grows year-round in tidepools and inlets. It is a cousin of spirulina which I have taken on and off for years in smoothies in its powder form for its health benefits.

Seamoss+ from Mineral London is an elevated version of this ancient algae, combining organic Irish sea moss with a formula derived from the key nutrients found naturally within itself. It is all 100% organic, wildcrafted and sustainably hand-harvested by a family of seaweed harvesters who make sure that all of the seaweed used in the products is naturally grown and organically certified.

Clarity in their products and the ingredients within them is really important to the brand, particularly as natural products can vary so much, and so they carry out third party nutritional testing on their sea moss so that you know exactly what nutrients you will benefit from when taking seamoss+ capsules.

About Mineral London

Mineral London is a female-owned business, which I love, and they source only the highest quality ingredients for their supplements which are all manufactured in the UK. Their aim is to improve nutrition across the UK in a convenient, affordable and honest manner.

Seamoss+

Seamoss+ has loads of potential benefits for your health and I’m excited to see if I notice a difference from taking it every day, particularly on my energy levels as there are loads of reviews saying how much of a difference it has made to them.

It comes in capsule form and you take 3 a day with food (although you could take less some days to make them last a bit longer!). There are lots of naturally occurring vitamins and minerals in sea moss, including zinc, iodine, vitamin E, iron, magnesium and others so they have loads of potential benefits for your skin, your immunity, energy levels, hormones, muscle function and metabolism!

It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and is actually an ideal supplement to take alongside a vegan diet as seamoss+ contains iron, iodine and zinc which are nutrients that often lacking in a vegan diet.

I love finding a new type of supplement to try and sea moss sounds really exciting for the benefits to our health. Quality with this kind of thing is really important though, and so it’s great to see the care and dedication that the brand puts into their product so you can trust that seamoss+ is high-quality and contains no rubbish fillers.
