Efamol Omega 3 Supplements for Adults & Kids | A Giveaway (Ended)

19th July 2021

I’ve talked before about how I like to take supplements so that I can make sure that I can get anything that I am missing or lacking in my diet. And one that I always make sure I take is a good quality, high-strength fish oil supplement.

What is Omega 3 and why do we need it?

Omega 3 is a type of fatty acid that we all need for our body to function properly. It is present in the cell membranes of every living cell in our body, supporting normal brain function, normal vision and the normal functioning of the heart. However, our body cannot make it so we must get it from our diet and most of us don’t get enough just from the food we eat.

Omega 3 fatty acids can help to fight anxiety and depression, improve risk factors for heart disease, and help to reduce chronic inflammation, which contributes to heart disease, cancer and other diseases. They may even help to prevent age-related mental decline and Alzheimer’s disease.

Getting enough omega 3 during pregnancy promotes brain health in the baby and is crucial during an infant’s early life for their brain growth and development.

The EPA in omega 3 also helps to keep our skin healthy, preventing premature ageing and protecting the skin from sun damage.

Obviously, getting enough omega 3 is vital for our health and wellbeing, but we tend to not get enough in our diets so taking a good-quality omega 3 supplement is really important for our overall health. Supplements are a great, convenient way to get all the benefits of omega 3 without eating more fish (which can contain high levels of mercury so certain types should be eaten in moderation).

Efamol omega 3

Efamol make a range of essential fatty acid supplements to support our health and the quality and efficacy of their products is really important to them. They have carried out extensive scientific research into Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) food supplements over the last 40 years whilst developing and expanding their own range.

The oils they use in their products are carefully extracted from their natural sources, from sustainable stocks, and tested to ensure they are free from harmful pollutants.

In 2019 Efamol became more environmentally sustainable, removing all unnecessary plastics from their packaging as well as trying to find more sustainable ways to package, develop and distribute products.

Efamol Efamax Ultra Strength Fish Oil

Efamax Fish Oil is a pure, high-strength fish oil supplement, containing DHA and EPA for brain and heart health and normal vision. It uses the triglyceride form of fish oil which is the natural structure of omega 3 oils found in fish and so it is the form the body recognises and digests most efficiently, so we get the most benefits from it.

The oils are carefully extracted at low temperatures so the oil stays in the same form and retains its natural characteristics and they are tested to ensure they are free from any harmful pollutants.

It’s a great, high-quality fish oil to take and I love knowing that I’m getting a great dose of omega 3 every day. It’s also a really decent price (and delivery is included) so I would definitely buy it again once I run out.

Efamol Kids Omega 3 DHA Drops

These drops are really great for kids (or adults if you struggle with taking tablets!). I’ve never given Ava an omega 3 supplement before but it’s so important for their little brains and we will always be giving it to her now.

Efamol Kids Omega 3 DHA Drops are really convenient as you can add them to food and drink once a day and with that, they will get more than the minimum recommended amount of 250mg needed to get the benefits.

It’s suitable for children from six months old and as DHA contributes to normal visual development of infants during their first year then it’s a really good thing to give them as they are growing.

The Kids DHA drops contain a carefully sourced fish oil which is almost tasteless and they’ve added a mild natural lemon flavour. I’ve tried them and I think they have a nice lemony taste but you could easily disguise the slight flavour in a flavoured yoghurt or any drink or food they like.

They are also free from dairy, lactose, yeast, sugar and artificial preservatives and colours.
