Bedroom Decorating Ideas for The Spring

Spring is in full swing and many of us are looking for fun ways to decorate our homes. The bedroom is one of those parts of the house which we often forget to decorate, but it can make a big difference to the overall feel of the space and our quality of sleep. If you fancy decorating your bedroom this spring, here’s how.

A new bed frame

The main feature of the bedroom is the bed. If you want to change the way your bedroom looks, you can visit a bed shop and take a look at the bed frames on offer. For a calming, rustic feel you could buy a solid oak bed frame, or if you fancy something more elegant, you can buy a simple fabric one with a headboard or even a snazzy TV bed. You can get some really cool cheap TV beds so you can snuggle up and watch a film or Netflix in your lovely new bed, and then the tv is hidden away when you’re not using it! It also saves space elsewhere in the room.

A bed is usually the focal point of a bedroom so a new one can really change a room and bring new life to it.

A statement wall

You might think that a statement wall is something reserved for the living room, but it can actually be great in any part of the house. The bedroom should be a place of calm and relaxation, so when you do choose a feature wall try to steer clear of bold colours. A trend which has been sweeping Pinterest recently is watercolour wallpaper. It is classy, unique and will provide you with a stunning feature to the room.

Organise your bedside

One thing which always seems to make our bedrooms look scruffy is the bedside table. We will often keep things like water, moisturiser, lip balm and other items by our bed and this can clutter up the space. To make things look better, you can buy organisers for your items or even a pretty box for the top of your table. It will transform the mess into something which actually feels part of the room design and your room will look much tidier.

Bring in some green

If you feel as if something is missing from your bedroom, a fun idea would be to bring a plant or two into the room. Plants give texture, life and colour to a space and will instantly brighten up your bedroom. The bonus is that plants can reduce stress, so they will help you sleep too! If you haven’t got a green finger then think about adding plants like aloe Vera or cacti into the space. You could even bring a vase of flowers into the space and change them every so often.

Go Technology-Free

If you seem to struggle to sleep every night when you get into bed, one of the things you can think about doing is taking out your technology. If you have a TV on the wall, take it off, and make sure that you turn off your phone and tablet and keep it away from you when you enter the room. It will not only give you extra space in the room to bring in a piece of art, but it will keep the space calm and relaxing for a better night’s sleep.
