Why I Love Fitness Blender for My Home Workouts

28th May 2020

Around five years ago I started exercising consistently for the first time in my life. I had lost the weight I had put on after having fertility treatment and then having my daughter – which wasn’t loads – from doing a bit of exercise and I felt so much better about myself, but I still wasn’t really toned and I really wanted to be.

Then I discovered Fitness Blender and the way I exercised changed. I had never done or particularly been interested in strength training before – I didn’t want to ‘bulk up’ or get massive muscles (that old chestnut) so I ignored the idea of strength training, which is stupid but I didn’t know any better.

Fitness Blender introduced me to the idea of strength training and I love it now, but that’s not the only reason I love them. They are made up of a lovely married couple – Daniel and Kelli, and their goal is to make fitness attainable, affordable, and approachable, and they really succeed at doing that. They are so relatable and motivational at the same time and they give away so much of their time and expertise for free.

They make free workout videos on YouTube, and they have been for years now, so there are tons available, and they also have a brilliant website. You can purchase programmes that they have put together, which consist of their YouTube videos brought together into a programme. So, for example, a butt and thigh programme, or their workouts for busy people which are all around 30 minutes. You can purchase these really cheaply and then add them to your personal calendar on their website so you can follow it day by day, and don’t have to plan everything out yourself and end up doing say, only lower body or too much HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). But you can obviously also just use their hundreds of workouts for free.

For each workout, they include a load of helpful information underneath – what the workout consists of, how many calories you will roughly burn, all of the individual exercises and the difficulty of the workout, which is really helpful if you’re looking for something in particular.

Kelli and Daniel’s workout videos are brilliant; so easy to follow along, you work hard and you see results fast. They’re so much fun (especially when they film together! Check out the 5-day workout challenge for busy people to see for yourself) and don’t take themselves too seriously. They’re just so real as well, which I really love. They obviously have incredible bodies, but they still get knackered doing some of the exercises and don’t try to pretend otherwise – it’s hard for them too. They also talk a lot about balance and how they enjoy beer and how they skip exercising sometimes too. They’re just so relatable and it really makes a difference.

But their videos are also professional and well put-together. They don’t play any annoying music which I like, so you can play your own if you like working out to music, and they are not at all gimmicky or promotional, and they really know what they are talking about and how to exercise properly and effectively.

They usually show a preview of the next exercise so you can get ready to move on, which is a great feature. They also often show you the lower impact version of each exercise – brilliant for if you’re just starting working out or if you have dodgy knees for example.

They also focus on working out for a strong, healthy body and good health rather than to lose weight which is pretty refreshing and they really motivate me to work hard and keep going so that I can be fitter and healthier.

Fitness Blender workouts are bloody hard, but they really work, and they have such a range of different training types and for different levels of fitness so I would really recommend them to everyone. I think they’re great and they work so hard to make brilliant workout videos so I wanted to recommend them if you’re looking for excellent home workouts to do. They’ve made such a difference to my overall fitness levels and my strength.
