The Hourglass Fit Dietary Supplement | A Review & Giveaway (Ended)

20th August 2020

I have never been on a diet and I don’t think I ever will be. But since my surgery last year and starting on HRT I have really struggled to lose any weight at all, despite eating well and exercising more and it has made me really frustrated to not feel like my hard work is paying off. I have lost a lot of confidence over the last year or so and I feel as though I am stuck where I am.

A couple of years ago I did some freelance writing for a diet and health supplements website, so I did a lot of reading and research about the ingredients that go into these. I found out about so many of the ingredients that claim to promise weight loss without any scientific evidence to support them.

But one thing that did often come up as an ingredient that does actually promote weight loss was Glucomannan, which swells up inside the stomach to help you feel more full.

Glucomannan is a natural, water-soluble dietary fibre extracted from the roots of the elephant yam, also known as konjac root.

Hourglass Fit

Hourglass Fit contains Glucomannan, alongside other ingredients that can help with weight loss alongside a healthy diet and exercise regime, and which are also good for your overall health. I would never promote (or take) something that claims to make you lose shed loads of weight easily and quickly as that product doesn’t really exist, but the ingredients in Hourglass Fit appealed to me and I wanted to try it to help me lose a bit of weight. Since my surgery and starting on HRT I have really struggled to lose the weight that I want to, so something that could give me a boost (without being dangerous) is worth trying to me.

What is Hourglass Fit?

Hourglass Fit is a supplement containing nine ingredients that are all said to work towards encouraging weight loss. It includes ingredients that boost thermogenesis – a process where extra calories are lost from the body as heat – as well as metabolism-boosting compounds to help ensure your body is burning calories at maximum capacity. As well as this, it can increase your energy to help you push harder during workouts and therefore burn more calories.

Hourglass Fit is said to be gentle enough for daily use, making it easy to be part of your everyday routine. Instead of promising rapid weight loss, it promises to work in harmony with your body as a slimming partner, helping you achieve better fat loss results at a healthy pace.

It isn’t going to suddenly allow you to lose stones and stones very quickly, but the ingredients in Hourglass Fit can help to support you with any weight you are trying to lose alongside a good diet and exercise, which is how I am currently trying to lose a bit of weight.

What does Hourglass Fit contain?

Vitamin B2, B6 and B12 – These vitamins are key for any calorie-restricted diet plan. They’re essential for helping you convert food into energy, keeping your metabolic processes ticking along. They’ll also ensure you have a steady supply of energy flowing through your body [1] so that you can dominate those all-important workouts.

Chromium – This trace mineral works to normalise blood sugar levels, which can help to reduce cravings and provide a block against snacking and overeating [2]. Snacking less leads to better fat loss results.

Zinc – Zinc has a hand in a number of factors that influence the way your body handles fat and burns calories, including metabolism and resting metabolic rate. The trace mineral also supports normal insulin levels to keep your appetite in check [3].

Glucomannan – This root extract fills your stomach to boost feelings of fullness and stop hunger cravings [4]. It’s not easy to stop feeling hungry when reducing calories, but Hourglass Fit can hopefully help with that as it contains 3g of Glucomannan in each serving.

Cayenne Pepper Extract (Capsimax)  – This extract is taken from chilli peppers which are known to have some natural properties for raising metabolism and burning fat [5].

5- HTP – Potent amino acid 5-HTP works to boost serotonin which plays a role in regulating appetite and mood [6]. It is thought to counteract hunger-inducing hormones, helping you control your calorie intake. (Be careful with 5-HTP if you are taking anti-depressants – you aren’t supposed to take them together as they both increase Serotonin levels.)

Black Pepper Extract (Bioperine) – This helps your body absorbs more of the other nutrients in the formula so that they can work their best. Black pepper has also been shown to initiate fat regulating receptors which can elevate your metabolism and suppress the growth of new fat cells [7].

Does it work?

Based on its ingredients, Hourglass Fit can help to reduce your appetite and make you feel fuller for longer so that you can reduce your calorie intake. Plus there are ingredients in it that could also help to increase your metabolism and your energy levels. The ingredients such as the B vitamins and the minerals are good for your health too and ones we are often deficient in.

Hourglass Fit is naturally low in caffeine so it shouldn’t give you side-effects like jitters or energy crashes, and it is easy to take three times a day alongside your meals. The brand’s products are all made in the US and UK, within FDA-registered facilities, in accordance with strict Good Manufacturing Practices and Hourglass Fit is now vegan.
