Spring Style: Simple & Stylish White Trainers

29th January 2020

It’s the end of January now, which means it is almost February, which means that we can almost say it’s spring next month!! And whilst chances are that it will be bladdy freezing for a while longer yet, and we may even see some snow before we can put our ear muffs away, I like to hold on to the idea that those days of blue skies and sun on our skin are finally on the horizon and we can start to look forward to those milder days and not freezing our butt off on the school run.

Simple & Stylish White Trainers

I love spring — the feel of a fresh start, of blossoming buds and baby chicks being born (and skunks, so Google tells me). I also love summer clothes and not having to wear a coat — it all just feels so free and hopeful.

My style has always been rather casual. I live in jeans and leggings in the winter and simple dresses in the summer months. I love a kind of cool, slightly edgy style, like Alexa Chung for example and although I like to think of myself as both edgy and cool, I am not either, as my daughter likes to remind me often (she’s only 8 for gods sake — can you imagine what she’ll be like as a teenager!?).

Anyway, despite not being cool, I do know that trainers with a summer dress is bloody cool. It’s a look I really love in the warmer months — it’s great for making a dressy dress more casual, or taking a pretty pretty dress from super girly to cool, and plus trainers are comfortable to schlep around in all day too.

I love a simple style, so trainers are something that really appeal to me, and I’ve built up quite a collection now, although there are so many more I would love to own. I live in my white Converse, my Adidas Stan Smith’s and my glitter and white Air and Grace trainers, all year round. They are my most worn shoes.

So I wanted to share some simple and stylish white trainers that are in the shops right now that will look great with dresses and skirts for springtime, but also jeans and a cosy knit right now, whilst we’re still shivering our socks off.

Simple & Stylish White Trainers for Spring

Adidas Superstar Foundation

I love these pure white Adidas Superstar Foundation trainers and really want them for summer. I had a pair of these when I was a teenager so my desire for them probably stems a bit from nostalgia, but I really like the clean white look of them and the shape, and they’d go with anything. I would love to get these bright pink and white velcro ones for Ava too. They’re so cute.

Currently £63.96.Simple & Stylish White Trainers

Adidas Stan Smith

Another clean white pair — there is something about Stan Smiths that always just looks so cool and effortless and they go with anything. I have a pair with Indigo-coloured stripes and I love them so much. They’re so comfy and easy to just chuck on and instantly feel a tiny bit cooler! They’re really comfortable too.

Currently £59.96.

Veja Esplar Low Logo

Meghan Markle loves these so they must be pretty cool; these black and white Veja trainers are super stylish and I really want them! They’d look great with simple t-shirt dresses as well as pretty summer dresses too.

Adidas Originals Gazelle

A bit of a different shape to probably all of the others, but I really like the smooth sleekness of these Gazelle’s. I love the crisp white with the contrasting sole, although I do love these in other colours too (I have them in black which I do find a bit harder to wear) — the pale pink is really lovely for Spring (and a lot cheaper too!).

Currently £100.00 in white.

Superga Cotu Classic White

I love my white Converse low-tops and always replace them when they get too haggard, but I really like the simple and clean Superga plimsoll-type trainers as well. I love plimsolls like this with dresses or skirts and they look great with jeans too — these make me think of Baby in Dirty Dancing when she’s dancing on the bridge.

Currently £49.49.

Paris X Rips White/Gold

I love all of these trainers that I’ve featured in this post, but I absolutely adore these in particular — of course I do — they’re by far the most expensive.

I love these trainers so much and I’m not even sure why – I just love the soft shape of them, the scruffiness – I just think they look so cool. And the price suggests that they are pretty cool too.

Currently £262.00.
