My Thoughts on the PAJ Power Finder 4G Car Tracker – PAJ GPS Tracker Review

16th June 2023

Years ago, when I was up in the night with my baby girl, there were a couple of van thefts on my street, and thankfully for the owners, I heard them both happening and called the police, and they were caught, and they got their van and all of their very expensive tools back.

My neighbours got lucky, but over the last year, the rate of car thefts has soared, with the high number of thefts expected to rise even further with the Cost of Living Crisis and more people turning to car crime to make money.

Not only that, but the current shortage of car parts is making more mainstream cars more popular to thieves, so it’s not just those snazzy, posh cars that people need to worry about.

A brilliant way to help limit the chance of your car or other vehicle being stolen as well as increasing the chances of you getting it back if it should happen, is with a car tracker.

A car tracker consists of the tracker that you put in your car and an app or online portal where you can live track the location of your vehicle and get alerts if your vehicle is moving. It can even be used to find your car in a car park.

PAJ GPS Trackers

PAJ is a GPS tracker manufacturing company based in Germany who offer the best technology supporting the 4G network (many car trackers use 2G, which won’t be available much longer), guaranteeing a higher network coverage and high-speed data transmission and future-proof use. Not only do they make vehicle trackers, but also ones for your belongings, dog or child!

I was sent the PAJ Power Finder 4G Car Tracker to test out and see what we thought about the device.

To use any of the PAJ trackers, you do need an active subscription, which costs £5.99 for a rolling month or cheaper if you buy a subscription for a year (saving you £16.89) or two years (a much greater saving of £53.77). I think for the peace of mind it gives you, as well as the ability to locate your vehicle should it be stolen, a subscription is good value, especially for £89.99 for two years.

Setting up the car tracker

The box has everything you need to get going with it and the SIM card comes already installed into the tracker.

What’s in the box?

The Power Finder 4G model has the ID activation code on the back of the device for easy access (with older models, you had to remove the cover), and after charging the device, you just go to the Finder Portal, choose your subscription, register your details and enter the ID code. I find the app easiest to use as it is always on my phone and can send me notifications, and it is available for iOS and Android.

In older models, you got a separate part to attach the finder to, making it magnetic, but now the device is magnetic itself so it’s even easier to attach it to a metallic part of your vehicle.

Power Finder 4G – PAJ GPS Tracker Review

The Power Finder 4G Tracker can be used in any type of vehicle, and I think it would be particularly brilliant if you own a motorhome, caravan or boat, especially if they are not kept at your own house and would really reassure you that it was safe and secure and help you find it if they were to be stolen.

The PAJ Power Finder 4G has up to 90 days of battery life in standby mode and around 40 days with an active tracking duration of about an hour, so you don’t have to worry about removing it to charge regularly, plus you can also check the battery level on the PAJ app. I’ve just set a reminder on my phone for around 90 days so I can remove it from our car and charge it up again, but it will also send you an alarm message as soon as the battery is low, which is great. You could also just plug it into a USB port in your car if you have one and charge it as you drive, although it might take a while to fully charge.

One great thing about this car tracker is that it doesn’t require installation in your vehicle, which means you can easily remove it yourself and use it in different vehicles or even in different places, such as your suitcase, if you are flying somewhere. PAJ do have other, more compact and lighter models that are made for travel, but you could easily use this in the same way.

The fact the PAJ Power Finder doesn’t require installation does mean that it could be more easily found and removed by thieves, but you can easily hide it in your car so that it is less likely to be found.

The PAJ Power Finder 4G works really well, as does the PAJ app. You can set it so that you receive notifications in case of vibration (for example, in a crash), if it is lifted or dropped, when the battery is low, when the speed limit is exceeded, and you can also set it up to let you know when it leaves or enters a certain area, as well as viewing the live location. You can also receive these notifications via email if you prefer.

It can be used in over 100 countries with no additional charges, always finding the best connection, and you can view 365 days of route information. The app is really clear and easy to use and view the information you need, and the notifications work well. You can share the location with the police if your vehicle was stolen or even with friends or family so they can make sure you have arrived safely or to see where you are.

The 10.000 mAh battery means that the Power Finder 4G is always ready for use when you need it, and the device is splashproof, so you shouldn’t need to worry about it getting damp in your car or splashed in your boat!

I think it’s a great device to invest in, both for peace of mind as well as being able to track your vehicle if you need to. As I said before, I think it would be particularly brilliant if you own a motorhome or other vehicle that maybe isn’t kept at your home on a driveway or one that is just more likely to be stolen, and it would really reassure you that you could find your vehicle if it was stolen.

The subscriptions are affordable, even at the higher monthly price of £5.99, and I would definitely recommend the PAJ Power Finder 4G. If you are looking for a tracker for your pet or to know your child is where they should be or are looking for a tracker to use when travelling, PAJ have all of these, too, at really good price points.

Where to buy: Amazon, currently £99.99 plus an extra 5% off, or PAJ, currently €84.99
