My Love for Online Shopping and Making Returns Easy | AD

15th March 2018

I am a huge fan of online shopping. I actually now buy way more stuff online that I do from actual shops, and I can regularly be found browsing ASOS or Amazon, and often ordering way more than I should.

I love the excitement that getting a parcel delivered brings, and ripping open the bag hoping you love the items inside and they’ll make you look amazing (just me?). I also love the ease of online shopping – I order so much stuff from Amazon and my Prime subscription makes delivery so fast. It helps so much being able to get a last minute birthday present for a party that Ava is going to (and I’ve forgotten about) or quickly ordering more of my vitamins when I hadn’t realised I was running out. I’m always busy and rushing about trying to fit more things into my day, so being able to quickly order something online makes my life so much simpler.

That often means though that I have things to return, when it doesn’t fit, or just isn’t right, which can sometimes be a right royal pain, and other times be very simple (ASOS in particular makes it so easy to send things back).

Like I said, I order from ASOS a lot, and apart from the fact that they have so much available, and that I love, part of the reason I’m happy to order from them regularly is because the returns are insanely easy, and free. I’ve never had a problem returning anything to ASOS (and I do it a lot – my friendly neighbourhood post-office-man likes to joke about whether I’ve actually kept anything every time I turn up with those black and white bags. If only he knew). All that is required is filling in the form with what you’re returning, sticking it in the bag with the items, taping it up, then taking it to the post office and returning it for free. It’s also a good idea to ask for a postage receipt so that you can prove that you send it if there are any problems. It’s also dead easy if you want to exchange something for a different size – you just tick that option on the sheet and they’ll send the replacement out to you.

With Amazon, I tend to not have to return things that often, because it’s usually something specific that I’ve ordered, like a game or some vitamins. So then when I do have to return something occasionally I haven’t a clue of the best way to do it, especially as there are sometimes different sellers. When it’s not clear to me how to return something, I have to admit that I put it off for as long as possible. I hate having to search on a particular website how I need to do it, and where I need to take it – it just becomes another thing I have to do. I find it a faff, and have struggled to find what I’m looking for before and ended up just keeping the item (stupidly!).

If there’s an issue with an item, such as it being faulty, then it can be even more complicated to find out how to sort out a return, with no clear answer online. Often you can contact the company by email or a contact form, but sometimes you just really want to speak to a real person on the phone and get it sorted quickly. The difficulty is, that often companies don’t make their telephone number very accessible to you. I have spent a while searching for a contact number for a particular company recently and had no luck and it’s pretty frustrating wasting that time that you don’t have.

Contact Numbers UK really helps to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible, by providing all the telephone numbers you need to help you make a return, whether that’s Amazon or Very. You can easily find the number you need and then discuss your return options with the right person. The directory is vast and covers a wide variety of different industries.

The database means you can easily and quickly find the right number to call and then find out your options for exchanges, whether you need the original packaging, your consumer rights and to arrange a collection or redelivery.

We all have busy lives, and so much of our purchases are made online now, so anything that can help with making things simpler is wonderful, and is why I wanted to share about Contact Numbers UK.

If you have a return to make and are not sure what you need to or where you need to take it then Contact Numbers UK is the first place you should look. It’s a really helpful website for when you really need to speak to someone and don’t want to waste lots of time searching for the businesses’ number.

Did you know that this website exists? Do you think you would use it?

This is a collaborative post with Contact Numbers UK.
