Mobile Apps You Should Download Now

Source

We do nearly everything on our mobile phones now from shopping to booking holidays to ordering food, but what we don’t do is use our mobile phones to make any calls. Apps are what we use for everything – by next year, the app market will be worth an estimated $101 billion, and we will have downloaded an astonishing 147.3 billion apps. While mobile app development teams have never been so busy, for an app to be good, it must be fulfilling a need, even if it is a need we didn’t know we had and here are some which do just that.

Prisma

As everyone is obsessed with photos, Prisma has managed to tap into that by letting you turn your photos into art by recreating your images from scratch and making them into paintings in the style of all kinds of different artists like Van Gogh, Picasso and Andy Warhol. It also features a number of amazing filters and effects.

CheatSheet

CheatSheet is exactly what you need for all those times when have you found yourself staring blankly at a screen having no idea what that password was that you were so sure you would never forget. Because we use so many things online, we end up using so many different usernames and passwords or different variations of the same usernames and passwords. Your brain can’t keep track of all this information, so why not put it in a safe place like CheatSheet? It is a place where you can keep all those little bits of info you need every day. It is also really handy for when you’re on holiday and need somewhere to put your room number, your hotel address and your flight details, and if you have an apple watch, you can access the information from there. There are also 118 hint icons to help you find everything.

Duolingo

When you’re travelling and need to use a bit of the local lingo, Duolingo is just what you need to download. This app will teach you Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, and even Irish – all for free. It makes learning languages genuinely fun and has some excellent cartoon artwork.

1 Second Everyday: Video Diary

For £3.99, you can capture a tiny reminder of each and every day. 1SE is a minimalist video diary that, when stitched together, will give you a window on entire periods of your life. It also lets you have multiple timelines so that you could have a separate life diary for nights out with friends, your children and even meals.

Flotsm

You can crowdsource your big life decisions on Flotsm, and ask strangers questions anonymously. You can ask users about anything – from what to wear today, to how to handle your work dramas, to whether you should pursue that guy you like. Alternatively, you can choose to be in control by answering and voting on other people’s dilemmas.
