It’s Not Just About the Interior Design

A lot of people when moving into their new homes tend to spend so much time focusing on the interior design of their homes, and yet, it isn’t always about the interior. The exterior is an area that is often overlooked, but having a really nice garden can really improve your quality of life. So it’s a good idea to spend a lot more time on the outside than you may be doing already and make your outside space lovely.

Just think about when the summer is here again – think about all those barbecue parties that you will want to throw, while inviting all of your close family and friends round for a wonderful day, spending quality time with one another, until the evening time where the drinks flow and the games begin.

So now is a great time to start thinking about these things while you still have enough time to plan them the way you want them to turn out.

If you’re looking to change up your overall Landscape Design, then there are plenty of services out there that can help you along the way, so never hold back from some ideas just because you think they aren’t possible. So here are some ideas to get you on the right track.

Plant some shade

Where you live will determine just how much sunlight you will be exposed to. A lot of people want the sun so that they can go out outside and catch some rays. While other people like to have a little shade to hide away when it all gets that little bit too hot. This is why trees and any other greenery can certainly help in the shading department. This can be anything from planting a few trees, or bushes, but it all comes down to the placement, so make sure you position these plants in the right place where the sun is covered up.

Cosy corner

It’s always a nice idea to come up with a cosy corner in your garden where people can come and have a snuggle and a chat about their day. All you need is some furniture set out – it can be as simple as a few chairs, sofas, or maybe even a lovely hammock to chill out on. Pair that corner up with some pretty fairy lights hanging from branch to branch, or wrapped around something, and you’ll be left with a wonderful magical place to sit in under the stars.

Bring in some colour

Colours are such a lovely way to bring in that little bit of life and personality into your garden. The best thing about this is that it’s entirely up to you. What colours make you happy? Reds, oranges, and yellows bring a fiery personality to your garden. While white brings more of a peaceful feeling. Purples and blues can give you more of a calming effect ideal for going out and doing some yoga in the early morning or evening time as the sun sets!

A water feature

Water features are a lovely way to draw attention to a specific area in your garden. This is why they are often placed in a central area in the middle of the lawn. Combining that with water is a lovely way to make even more of a feature whilst welcoming in any wildlife that wants to pop in to say hello. Birds will go there to have a little bath and a drink, butterflies and dragonflies will be drawn to it too, as well as bees – and we all know how important they are to our world.

There are so many different ideas that you can achieve as long as you set your mind to it. So have a look at the garden you’re working with now, and then see where any improvements can be made. You may think it’ll be a tough job, but it really doesn’t have to be as difficult as you may think, because as long as you have an idea and a plan of how you want to transform your garden – it’ll all work out.
