Is it Possible to Wear the Same Style Through Every Season?

Spring, summer, autumn, and winter: is it possible to wear the same style no matter what the temperature or weather is doing? It can be a difficult thing to pull off! Really, we empathise with anyone who feels the pressure to buy a whole new wardrobe whenever the days get longer, shorter, hotter, and colder.

After all, someone who prefers the gothic side of fashion might have to ditch their darker pieces when it’s sweltering out. Alternatively, another person who loves a flowery dress and a pair of sandals will need more robust boots and trousers when autumn swings in. These are pretty big changes in the fashion world.

So what can you do? It’s all in picking out pieces you know you like and planning your outfits carefully. The seasons don’t have to dictate what fashion you should be decked out in! And the more tips you have on your side to keep staying stylish, the better!

Buy Seasonal Pieces in the Colours You Like

Seasonal clothing can fit your style quite naturally if you buy it in the colours you like. For example, if you’re a fan of monochrome, make sure that big fluffy overcoat is off-white at the lightest.

Then, be sure to buy clothes in lighter shades of your preferred colour when the sun is unavoidable. It’s OK to have a light grey top on but we don’t recommend going out in full black when it’s already hit 25 degrees!

Or if you’re a fan of bright pinks and reds, buying in more muted shades of these tones for the autumn will make you feel right at home.

Keep the colours the same throughout your seasonal wardrobe and you’ll never feel like you’re being confined outside of the style you enjoy.

Personal Touches are in the Accessories

We all know just how much power accessories have over the way an outfit is perceived. A rather basic white shorts and a green t-shirt is made upper-class chic when matched with silver earrings from Kendra Scott or a statement belt that cinches in the waist just right!

Indeed, a lot of personal style is found in the way we choose to accessorise. If you’re such a person who’s never seen without a full set of jewellery or a bag that matches the shoes, you’re going to find styling by season very easy.

After all, you can wear whatever you need to, according to the conditions you’ll be battling against. You can then pop on the necklace, earrings, rings, and bracelets that are the trademark touches you’re known for.

If you’re also a big scarf lover, and you’re keen to bring back the power of wearing the right hat, winter will be no more difficult to style yourself through. You’re an accessories person and that makes feeling good in your clothes all the simpler!

Buy Materials That Suit the Temperature

Another factor that allows you to wear the clothes you want when you want, make sure you look into the fabrics that are best for the temperatures you have to deal with.

If you don’t want to have to put too many layers on, but it’s also the middle of December, relying on wool and/or fleece is the way to go. If you don’t believe wool could be suited to your personal style, remember just how creative a cardigan pattern can be!

You don’t necessarily need to wear anything underneath, either, especially if you’re wearing an oversized version. That’s the top half of the outfit done.

Layer Up When You Need to

Layers: the perfect way to quickly warm up when the temperature is dropping! You can add new pieces to your outfit based on how chilly it’s going to be, but you can also remove these extra layers if it warms up.

There’s a bit of an art to it, though, so make sure you double-check the way your outfit lies before you leave the house. But really, as long as you’ve got a simple base to work with, it won’t be hard to fit your usual style on top.

A vest underneath your usual t-shirt is essential if you want to keep your winter wear casual. Similarly, a pair of skin coloured tights will keep the cold off your legs if you still want to pop shorts on in October.

Swap Playsuits for Jumpsuits (and vice versa!)

If you’re a fan of the playsuit and everything it does for the figure, swap them out for the jumpsuit when it gets cold. You still get all the benefits of wearing an all-in-one piece that’s super easy to accessorise, but you get a bit more leg length and no chill around the ankles.

Your Coat is Really the Only Thing That Needs to Be Different!

How many coats do you own? Whatever the amount is right now, it’s probably not enough! So yes, head out and feel free to buy some more, because at the end of the day, these are the only seasonal items you need to worry about.

Heavier coats for the winter, a light mac for the spring, something fluffy yet lightweight to cosy up in for the autumn, and something breathable and half body when it’s breezy in summertime.

Make sure that these four types of coats have a home on your coat pegs, but don’t be afraid to have a jacket available for any kind of weather and temperature combo!

The Seasons are About to Get Very Stylish!

If you’re sick of not being able to wear the style you know and love throughout the seasons, these are the tips for you! It’s totally possible to stay on track with your personal sense of fashion, despite how rainy or sunny it is outside.

As long as you’ve got the right coat for the season, and you’re covering up the parts that get easily cold or burned, wear what you want when you want!
