My New Scooter! Micro Scooter Review
My daughter has had a few different scooters during her lifetime, and she’s always really enjoyed zooming off on her scooter whilst we trail behind her. After she has grown out of them, we have always passed them on to her cousins, and they’ve got loads more use out of them too, which I love.

We’ve stolen hers to have a go many times, whilst she chases after us, telling us to give it back. But now I have my very own Micro Scooter (…and she now wants to steal mine instead).
We’ve recently moved house, and we’ve been getting outside so much more, and I’m loving it. We also now live a few minutes’ walk away from lots of our family, so being able to get there faster (and have fun at the same time) is very appealing to my lazy self.
I’m not sure whether I’m cool enough (I’m definitely not) to be an adult on a scooter, but I’ve decided that I’m 40 now, so I need to stop caring. My mum is also getting a scooter for Christmas so we can be two old ladies zooming along together and going for a glass of wine.

Micro Scooter Micro Speed Deluxe
I chose the very pretty Micro Speed Deluxe in rose pink, which has retro chopper-style handlebars, which I love so much, and large wheels for a smooth ride. You can adjust the handlebars so it suits a wide range of ages and heights – it’s suitable from ages 8 to adult – and it can be folded up easily too, meaning I can carry it up the massive hills we have round here once I get too tired.

It’s the first scooter we’ve had that has a kick-stand, and it is such a great feature, allowing the scooter to stand up on its own so you don’t have to prop it up against something every time you stop. It makes it so much more convenient and also means it’s less likely to fall over and get damaged.
This scooter comes in three colours, all of which are lovely – the rose pink that I have, plus clay and blue, and I love the old-fashioned styling with the handlebars, which also steer like a bike and give you total control.
Micro Scooters – the brand
The brand has received ‘Scooter of the Year’ every year since 2011, have won hundreds of other awards and have over 15000 positive reviews, so you know it’s a brand you can trust. They are a small family-run business, that was started by two parents over 20 years ago, and they aim to have a positive impact on people and the planet.
Their Swiss-designed products are built to last, made with high-quality materials for a tough and, most importantly, safe ride. They aim to last a minimum of 7 years of use so that they can be passed on, and the scooters also have replaceable parts if you should need them. I think it’s brilliant that they want people to get the best out of them rather than just wanting to sell as many as possible.
The brand cares about our planet, and they donate 1% of Eco Scooter sales to environmental charities and are committed to becoming completely carbon-neutral. They currently offer free carbon-neutral delivery so that the carbon impact of the scooter being delivered to your door is offset.
Micro Scooters use recycled materials as much as possible and now make some of their scooter decks from recycled fishing nets and accessories from recycled plastic bottles! The replacement parts available mean that each scooter can last longer and therefore don’t add to landfill.
Scooting in itself is great for the planet because it reduces the number of people commuting to school and work in vehicles. My niece scoots to school every single day! Micro Scooter work with schools, councils and Transport for London to offer discounts to get more people scooting to where they need to go and improving air quality whilst doing so.

Is scooting good for you?
Scooting is great for the mind and body, and for adults, it is a great way to add some fun and movement into your day. It provides a combination of strength and cardio exercise and is a brilliant low-impact and low-intensity cardio option that keeps your heart rate in the fat-burning zone.
It builds muscle strength, strengthens the core, and engages our stabilising muscles – so it’s a great all-round exercise that we can do without feeling like we’re making ourselves exercise!
The cost
Micro Scooters are not a cheap option. But that’s because they are scooters that are made to last and be as safe as possible for us, and particularly, our children.
The Micro Speed Deluxe that I have is currently £164.95, but they have a great range of scooters, and for teens and adults, the cheapest is £84.95, so it really depends on what you are looking for and what you have available to spend.
Micro Scooters offer a lowest price guarantee, even if alternative stores are offering a discount, so you can get the reassurance of ordering directly from them, and delivery is super fast. They also offer a 2-year warranty and free returns, so if you’re not happy with it after 28 days, then you can return it for a refund or exchange – I think that’s amazing – so you can try it out without worrying, especially when you are spending a decent amount.
I really love my new scooter and am so glad I have it. I love just going out with A for a play on it, as well as using it to get somewhere much more quickly and as a great form of exercise.
Where to buy: Amazon or Micro Scooters.
I was sent the scooter to review, but all words and opinions are my own. See my full disclosure policy here.
