Dinosaurs are Coming to Town: Dino Kingdom – Thoresby, Nottinghamshire

7th October 2021

We’re very excited to be entering the kingdom of the dinosaurs at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire next weekend with our nephew and Ava.

Dino Kingdom is running from the 15th of October until the 31st of October, 2021 with its brand new immersive outdoor experience, with a hundred prehistoric beasts being unleashed to roam across the plains and woodlands of the beautiful historic landscape.

There’s going to be realistic animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar, including a huge T-rex and Apatosaurus and we’ll get to see them as they would have lived in their natural outdoor habitat.

Technology will bring the prehistoric world to life with loads of innovative features packed into the state of the art experience from 3D anatomy mapping to a nerve-jangling encounter with holographic dinosaurs hiding amongst the ancient woodlands.

It sounds brilliant and I think I’m as excited about it as the kids are! It’s going to be such a fun afternoon. It’s nice that you get to choose a time slot when you buy your tickets too, as you know it won’t be absolutely rammed which I’m sure most of us aren’t comfortable with yet.

Dino Kingdom has been created by the same people behind the award-winning Lightopia Festival, and brings together a perfect blend of education and entertainment, teaching you all kinds of things about these amazing creatures inside and out as they are brought to life in a completely new and exciting way.

A Dino Kingdom app has been created for the Jurassic journey with loads of content to give a unique insight into how dinosaurs lived, millions of years ago.

There’s going to be so much to see and do in the 3-hour time slot that we have; as well as the animatronics throughout the grounds, there’s an excavation sandpit for budding palaeontologists (aka Ross’), dinosaur eggs, fossils, smouldering volcanoes, a giant dinosaur skeleton head and a walk-through fossil tunnel.

There will also be some great interactive activities indoors, from designing a dinosaur to see it come to life in a virtual kingdom or feeding the hungry beasts in a Dino Keeper VR experience. Plus there will be fairground rides and lots of food and drink available too!

Tickets have been selling super fast since they went on sale so if you want to go then you need to book really quickly. The day we are going sold out immediately and I think all weekend tickets have now sold out too (luckily it’s on over half term for most of us).

Dino Kingdom Thoresby is coming for two weeks only from 15 to 31 October 2021 with pre-booked timed slots available every day.

You can get your tickets here: Dino Kingdom Nottinghamshire.

We have been provided with tickets to go to Dino Kingdom however I wasn’t asked to write this post.
