Get Your Home Ready For the Summer Months

26th April 2018

Well, well, do we have some good news: the forecast is in, and if you’re a fan of long sunny days then you’re in luck! The UK is set to have an unusually warm summer, with the next couple of months, in particular, shaping up to be very nice indeed. We can understand that, since you live in the UK, this might come as a bit of a shock, and you might not be prepared to handle what’s about to come (except the beer garden: us Brits are always ready for the beer garden!). So we’re here to help you out. Below, we take a look at a few ways you can get your home ready for the good weather that’s on its way.

Cleaning and Decluttering

The sunshine is a wonderful thing indeed, but it does have a habit of shedding light on areas of the home that we’re normally get away with. Who notices a few more specks of dust when the weather outside is dark and miserable? When the sun is shining brightly, that build-up of grime that you’ve been avoiding will come into full view. So get to cleaning! It’ll give your home that spring freshness that we all know and love. This could also be a chance to go through your home and get rid of the things that you don’t need. A decluttered space is always conducive to a well-rested body and mind!

Into the Garden

While the inside of your home is going to be important, if the weather is as nice as we all hope it’ll be, then we’re going to be spending much more time in the garden than we have done in recent months. So let’s get that garden into shape, and make it a place where you want to spend your days. Begin by trimming the grass, and make sure the plants around the edge are in tip-top condition. From there, it’s all about adding a barbeque, a table, and comfortable seating; this will allow you to get social and spend many an enjoyable evening under a setting sun with your friends and family.

Bringing the Outdoors Inside

There’s nothing better than sitting in your home, eating breakfast, and feeling like you’re as good as in the outdoors. To do this, you’ll need to set up your home so that nature can make its way in! Buy vertical blinds online, and you’ll be able to let that morning sun shine into your home with ease. At the back of your house, look at installing patio doors. You’ll be able to open them up and let that cool, fresh air flow throughout your home.

Lighten up the Colours

You can’t have a summery house with dark, cold colours. You don’t need to paint all the walls, but you should switch out the bedding and pillow colours for lighter options, such as yellow and sky blue, and add some flowers. After you have, your home will be positively blooming with that relaxed, awesome summer vibe.
