Improve Your Gut Health, Well-being & Mood with Probiotics | Feel Daily Biotic Review

10th January 2023

As many of us do, I use the start of a new year as a bit of a reset; a time to refocus on my health and well-being after the chaos of Christmas and all of the indulgence and sloth-like weeks I have had.

I’ve not been very well since the beginning of December and so I, unfortunately, don’t feel like I’ve had the break and the rest and relaxation that I so needed, but it is what it is. I did use the time to eat and drink pretty much what I wanted and I haven’t done any exercise for weeks now.

So now I want to just go back to my routines, focus on my health again and once I’m better (everyone seems to be struggling to shift this awful flu/virus thing don’t they?) start exercising consistently again, as it makes such a difference to how I feel.

When you’re ill it’s so frustrating as you really need to be looking after yourself, eating well, taking your supplements and drinking loads of water and yet I haven’t had the energy to do any of these things – even filling up a bottle of water has felt like too much at times!

My overall health is something that I am always working on, and so I’m excited about Feel’s new addition to their range – Feel Daily Biotic – a supplement to support your gut and immune health as well as brain function and mood regulation.

There has been more and more research over the last few years on how important our gut health is to our overall health and well-being, so it’s important that we look after our gut so it can look after us!

The gut is sometimes described as our ‘second brain’, as it can have an impact on almost every aspect of our well-being, affecting nutrient absorption and digestion, as well as our immune system, mood, skin health and body weight.

Research suggests that gut health influences immune health as it can strengthen the intestinal barrier and activate protective T-cells to ward off unfriendly bacteria and viruses. Conversely, a weakened immune system can impair gut function and cause further issues such as bloating, systemic inflammation and leaky gut.

Mood-wise, the gut is important, as 95% of our serotonin supply is manufactured by gut bacteria plus other important neurotransmitters for mood, concentration, anxiety levels and motivation; dopamine, norepinephrine, acetylcholine, and GABA.

Biotics can help to optimise the function of these neurotransmitters and thus have a positive effect on our mood and well-being.

Feel Daily Biotic

Feel Daily Biotic combines 14 different strains of live cultures for the best results, as well as a soluble prebiotic dietary fibre to help nourish the gut and bring a host of benefits for gut and immune health as well as brain function and mood regulation.

Feel Biotic contains a high 10 billion CFU (Colony Forming Units). Probiotics Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are present in optimal amounts as they are the most extensively clinically researched ‘friendly bacteria’, being found to be important for overall gut health and everyday wellness.

The 14 strains of bacteria in Feel Daily Biotic have all been found to survive stomach acidity which means they reach the gut alive. These different strains offer a diverse range of benefits and affect different parts of the intestines, for the maximum effects on our health and well-being.

The prebiotic comes in the form of Acacia fibre to provide digestive support and help combat issues such as constipation and bloating. Prebiotics work synergistically with probiotics as they can help feed and stimulate the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.

Acacia is considered low FODMAP, which means that it is well-tolerated and gentle on the stomach because of its slow fermentation rate.

Feel Daily Biotic comes in a tablet form and you can take either one or two every day with food. They are vegan and contain no milk or soya (which probiotics often do), and no cornstarch, fillers, binders or preservatives. They are gluten-free, allergen-free, non-GMO and made in the UK. The packaging is completely plastic-free and the tablets come in a glass bottle and unlike some probiotics, they can be kept safely at room temperature.

We can all benefit from taking in more friendly bacteria to improve our overall health and well-being and Feel Daily Biotic is a great one with high amounts of different strains to work effectively in different ways. I’ve been taking it every day and I am going to continue to buy it alongside my Feel Multivitamin once I have run out. I know I can trust the product so I am hopeful that I will notice benefits from taking it.

Whilst I was poorly over Christmas I resisted going to the doctors even though I wasn’t getting any better after a few weeks, as I really didn’t want to take antibiotics. Obviously, if I had to then I would but I know that they destroy both good and bad bacteria in our bodies, meaning they can have a negative effect on our health.

However, if I had taken antibiotics, then taking Feel’s Biotic would have helped to reassure me that I was still supporting my gut health and restoring good gut bacteria by adding loads of good live bacteria back into my body, so they should definitely be something you think about taking, even if short-term whilst taking antibiotics.

Probiotics are also really important for those who suffer from digestive issues and food intolerances as they can really help to counter the negative effects. New research has even suggested that probiotics can potentially enhance skin health and autoimmune diseases along with mood and brain function.
