Don’t Be Afraid of Noise

Noise can be bad when it’s coming from an external source. If you work next to a busy construction site or your office is located in a common congestion zone, it’s best to block out as much noise as possible. 

However, when it comes to inner office noise, let it flow. Let your employees talk as much as they need to, get involved in the conversation yourself, and even allow for soft music to be played from time to time. All of these things can help creative productivity to thrive. 

Allow for Customisable Cubicles

If a worker’s cubicle can be customised, it’ll feel much more like the place they need to be. Family photos, quotes, a bit of paint, and even seasonal decorations can all work well for encouraging productivity. 

If an employee knows they have this freedom at work, there will be a sense of confidence in everything else they do, and that means plenty of good work for you. Of course, you don’t have to allow for crazy modifications, but as long as there’s a rule that their desk is in fact their own space, let them make changes where they want.

The meeting room, or the boardroom, is the one space we most commonly dread having to spend time on. Meetings can drag on for hours, and sometimes it’s hard to communicate in them. As such, they can be a real downer on productivity.
