The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

It’s beginning to look a lot like… November, and that can only mean one thing. Christmas is comiiiiiiiing!!!

Now my daughter is almost 8, I find that I don’t have as many ideas for Christmas presents for her as I used to — she either asks for ridiculously expensive branded sets that she will probably only play with for a few months, or more of the little doll-type things that she is so obsessed with right now.

So if like me you are looking for some inspiration for Christmas gifts for children aged around 6-10 I have lots of great suggestions for you — most of which I have never come across before — they are not all things that you see everywhere constantly, which I love, and will make for great Christmas presents for your slightly older kids. There are lots that are educational and encourage them to be creative whilst being loads of fun too.

Xtrem Smart Bot

Xtrem Smart Bot | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

This looks like so much fun for all ages! The Xtrem Smart Bot is operated with a remote control or with hand gestures and can either walk or slide forwards, backwards, side to side, and even dances! The 20-function remote control can be used to programme up to 50 consecutive actions for Smart Bot to follow and the in-built motion detectors recognise hand gestures for additional movement, with the LED eyes producing a variety of facial expressions.

It doesn’t need batteries (it’s charged with a USB) which I think is great and I think everyone in the family will be fighting for a turn with this on Christmas Day!

3Doodler Start Essential Pen Set

3D Doodler Essential Pen Set | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

I’m so excited by this – I think it makes a great present for children, being both educational and loads of fun. The set inspires children’s creativity, design, planning, building and their spatial understanding.

The 3Doodler extrudes heated plastic that cools almost instantly into a solid, stable structure, so you make things in 3D! It is easy to use and it doesn’t get hot to the touch and it uses biodegradable Eco-Plastic and is BPA-free which is brill.

The 3Doodler Start Essential Pen Set includes 3Doodler Start 3D Pen, 2 mixed-colour packs of Eco-Plastic (48 Strands), micro-USB charger, and an activity Guide.

Rookie Roller Skates

Rookie Roller Skates | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

I want these so much and I am so jealous of my daughter and I’m so tempted to put them on my Christmas list too. These retro Rookie Roller Skates are so cool and really amazing quality too. They come in blue or pink pastel colours, which are both lovely, and I know my daughter is going to have so much fun learning to use these.

They have an extra padded fleece lining and sizes start at a child size 10 (UK) and go up to an adult size 7 – I love that you can match with your child!

Where to buy: Skates.co.uk or Amazon RRP £54.95

Science Mad Chemistry Lab

This at-home Chemistry lab looks brilliant and kids (and adults!) will have so much fun with this. You even get a real flame spirit burner which particularly makes it so exciting for kids at the same time as teaching them about the fascinating chemical reactions involving heat — as well as 10 chemicals, glass test tubes, vessels, apparatus, and safety glasses, so they can be little chemists. I think it would be really cute to get them a little lab coat as a gift alongside this, so they can really play the part!

You can do 80 experiments, that are safe and educational and it makes a great Christmas present if you are looking for STEM products for your kids this year. I love doing things like this with my daughter; it’s interesting for us both and helps to teach her science and the wonders of chemistry!

Dragons’ Tower Garden Set

Dragons' Tower Garden | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

I know my daughter is going to love this so much — it combines her love for cute little toys that she can carry around with her and roleplay with, with an activity that we can do together and she gets to look after and nurture her fairy garden afterwards.

The Dragons’ Tower Garden Set features a magical castle that is home to a mummy and baby dragon and a beautiful fairy, and you can grow pea shoots and mustard seeds in three growing areas and later harvest the pea shoots and eat them!

I think this is such a fun way to grow something with your child and teach them all about looking after plants and will make such a lovely present.

Case-E iPad Case

Case-E iPad Case | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10Case-E iPad Case | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

Now, I really wish we had this before my lovely child dropped and smashed part of the screen on my iPad! This playful iPad case is made especially for kids (although I think it’s cool too!) to protect their iPad with superior protection, whilst the detachable arms make it into a stand as well! The Case-E can even be attached to the backseat of a car for those long car journeys where kids constantly ask “are we there yet?” a million times.

You can get the kids case for an iPad mini or Pro, and they are formaldehyde-free, and made from PVC & BPA–free EVA.

Boomtrix Showdown

Boomtrix Showdown | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

Boomtrix Showdown is an extreme marble track with a launch tower, trampolines, stunts and finish. You can build your own course and use gravity to do loads of tricks! This sounds like so much fun and is another one that is fun for all the family to play with together. A great STEM product that encourages children to use their imagination and helps to develop creativity in the designing of different tracks each time.

Remote Control Wall Racer

Wall Racer | The Christmas Gift Guide for Kids Aged 6-10

The Remote Control Wall Racer is an amazing gravity-defying car that drives up walls and across ceilings, and it is brilliant fun! It can also be used like any other Remote Control car on a flat surface, and you just switch it to wall climbing mode to drive it up the wall and on inverted surfaces.

The ‘Wall mode’ function activates the suction mechanism on the underside of the car that keeps it held tight to flat surfaces, allowing it to roll up and down as well as manoeuvre around surfaces that would normally be too steep to drive on. It’s so much more fun than a standard RC car and will make a great Christmas present for slightly older children.
