1st March 2023

You’ve found it hard to sleep with your tailors bunion causing you pain lately. Fortunately, you’re scheduled to get it taken care of. After your sleep gets back to normal, you’re ready to start incorporating some healthier morning habits to kickstart your day. Here are 7 healthy morning habits for women to help get you started!

Wake Up Early

We wouldn’t be able to have a healthy morning routine if you don’t have the time to do so! That’s why it’s important that you wake up a little early if you want to start your day on the right foot. All the tips we’ll mention shouldn’t take more than an hour in total. Get that alarm set for an hour early, and let’s get into it!

Start with Water

Our body is usually dehydrated when we first wake up as it’s been without water for nearly 8 hours. So, first things first, you want to make sure you get a full glass of water when you get up to start your day. Your body will thank you for this later.

Mindfulness Practice

You’ll want to include a mindfulness practice in your morning routine if you’re wanting to feel more peace and focus throughout the day to come. This practice doesn’t need to be any longer than 10 minutes. A good idea is to set an alarm on your phone and either practice a mindfulness meditation or even a yoga flow will work!

Journal It Out

When we wake up, our minds are usually flooded with thoughts on the day ahead of us. Journaling first thing in the morning allows you to release these thoughts. It connects you with a greater part of yourself outside of what you have to do that day. You can either journal what you’re feeling, practice gratitude journaling, or free write. Find what works for you!

Spend Some Time Outside

Nature has a slew of positive benefits for our mental and physical health. One of the first things you should do after grabbing your glass of water is open your back door. Step outside and listen to the birds, feel the breeze on your skin, and notice the blue sky. Even spending as little as 5 minutes in nature can have a positive impact on your mental health.

10-Minute Physical Activity

You might see physical activity and think you don’t have that much time in the morning. We certainly get it. However, just a short 10-minute exercise will get your endorphins (the happiness hormone) going! Doing a short morning workout also motivates you to be more active throughout the day ahead. You can either go for a walk, do some light stretching, or turn on a quick home workout video. There are plenty of options when it comes to being physically active at home.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

It’s important that you eat a healthy breakfast each morning. You’ll want to start your day with an adequate amount of protein which will help curb any unhealthy hunger cravings throughout the day. Be sure to avoid foods high in sugar, as this will have the opposite effect of protein and have you craving unhealthy snacks later on.
