A List of Things on a Friday

25th January 2019

Happy Friday! How are you doing?

I’m battling another sinus infection and I’m in sooo much pain. I’m pretty sick of it now – this is my fourth in a row, and I’ve had three lots of antibiotics, a nasal spray and oral steroids, and it just comes back straight after I’ve finished the antibiotics. And I hate taking medication anyway, and antibiotics affect my body in other ways, so I’ve had enough. I need to go to the doctors again and not let them give me antibiotics this time.

I’ve also booked an appointment for a Hopi Ear Candle treatment next week – has anyone ever had that? I’ve never heard anyone mention it before, but my friend suggested it after reading that it can help with sinusitis and migraines! So I’m really hopeful that this will be the answer to all my problems. Or at least the ones in my sinuses anyway.

This week felt like it was going really slowly at first, and yet now here we are on Friday again, which I’m glad about as I need a lie in. Although I’m sleeping horrendously at the moment as well, so lie-ins aren’t very productive at the moment.

A list of things!

My tax return: It is now January 25th and I still haven’t done my tax return. I have 6 days to get it done. Half of the reason I put it off is the whole bloody painful logging in onto the HMRC website. I can never remember my password so you are given a code to put in to reset it – part of that is sent to your email address and part is displayed on screen. For some reason, this never ever works for me for at least three goes, and so I’m pissed off before I’ve even entered any figures.

I’m going to be an aunty again: My sister is due with her first baby next month! I’m so excited to be an aunty again! She’s having a girl which Ava is very happy about. She has a strict schedule to stick to though as we have so many family birthdays all through February, and then more the second week of March – so she needs to come in between those dates! My sister didn’t time it very well. She was worried to tell me when she got pregnant because I had infertility issues for a long time, but I couldn’t have been happier. After going through infertility and IVF I am truly so happy when someone close to me gets pregnant easily. It makes me really happy that it happened so easily for them. Yeah, for those I don’t love I might be pissed off and intensely green with envy, but not for my friends and family!

A lip balm recommendation: My lips have been so dry lately, and I have really been loving this lip balm from Eucerin. Someone recommended it on YouTube (I think it might have been Ruth) and I love it. I find it so soothing on my uncomfortable lips and really moisturising. I have tried a lot of lip balms and I love this so much that I have bought quite a few when they were on offer. You can get it from Boots here.

A lovely lunch: I went for a lovely lunch with two of my friends and their babies this week. I really needed it after feeling so ill for so long, and forcing myself to get out even though I wanted to go back to sleep really helped me, and I, of course, love the baby snuggles. It’s crazy how many babies we all have between us now, as only a few short years ago it was only Ava, and now there are lots and I love it. Although I am jealous that they got to be pregnant at the same time more than once! I was desperate to have a pregnant friend when I was pregnant with Ava – someone to go to baby classes and complain about the sleepless nights with. But I’m glad they get to share all that and I’m not at all bitter about it 😉

Facebook: I’m enjoying being on Facebook a lot less. I probably go on once a day or less now, and every time I do – unsurprisingly – I haven’t missed anything!!

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Lou x
