3 Present Ideas for a Friend Who Has Just Given Birth
Has your friend just given birth, but you are struggling to come up with ideas for presents to buy them? You have come to the right place; we have just the guide for you.

Buying for a friend who has given birth can be a lot of fun (present buying is always fun), but it can also be stressful at the same time – especially if you haven’t bought for someone in this situation before. You want to make sure the present is thoughtful, useful and that it doesn’t look like you are being cheap.
From a baby photoshoot to a pamper box and a selection of baby books, below we have put together a brief guide on three present ideas for a friend who has just given birth. Keep reading to find the ideal present.
Baby photoshoot
A baby photoshoot is the perfect gift! It’s thoughtful, not too expensive, and it’s something your friend will love to do as a new family. It gives them the opportunity to capture some special photos as well as spend some quality time together as a family. Plus, when they get the photos, they can then decorate their home with the beautiful memories. It’s also a gift which the dad will appreciate.
Pamper box
Often, a lot of gifts are based around the newborn, which is really nice and expected. But, something that is nice is to receive a gift yourself, as giving birth isn’t the most fun thing to do in the world. A nice present idea would be to put together a pamper box for them, which they can use when they get a minute to themselves. You could include a face mask, lip gloss, bubble bath, bath bombs, a voucher to get their nails done and a voucher for a coffee at their local coffee shop.
Selection of baby books
Something every new parent will need is a collection of baby books. They’re perfect for bonding, help build early language skills, and create a comforting bedtime routine. It’s a simple but meaningful gift that will be used and appreciated every day. You could write inside each book a little note that they can read, which is nice and adds a more personal touch. When buying books, try to ask them subtly if they already have some; this way, you don’t buy the same ones. If you are unsure, buy books which are a few age gaps up; this way, they can use them in the future, such as 6 months plus or a year plus. If they have a Kindle, you could find a book for them to read on it at the same time.
Always give yourself plenty of time to find a present, just in case there are long lead times on deliveries – especially if you are going down the route of a personalised gift.
