Hey You!! Did You Organize Your Records Yet?

17th November 2020

A lot of eyes pop out with astonishment when someone talks about vinyl records in this digital age. For them, it’s like, “why do you need anything like that when you can listen to your music with just a click?” Well!! There are still people living on this Earth who love holding their vinyl records, even in this age when the internet is ruling the world.

This article is dedicated to them so that they assemble their records in the best possible way. Who would like to wait for hours to find their favourite song when they have a little time to spare? After all, it’s too frustrating if it takes a lot of time to find your favourite track.

So, without further ado, let’s get started right away!

Organize by Genre

Spotify and Pandora, and other digital music apps are making every music lover appreciate labels and other microgenres. The idea is to find the song right away without any particular favourites.

This is the perfect way to organize your vinyl records if you have a soulless computer program who’s managing your collection. For others, it might create a problem since you won’t classify something like the “Purple Rain” or “Walk This Way.”

Organize by The Record’s Worth

This is yet another technique to organize your vinyl record collection. It’s especially fruitful for the ones who buy or sell records as a hobby or for profits.

Why? Because using this way, you can project the worth of your vinyl records without having to take out each of them every time someone asks for a record. Whatever you do, make sure that you follow all the right measures while storing vinyl records at your home or studio. Otherwise, even the best organization method would fail since you won’t have any record left to listen to.

Organize in Alphabetical Order

This option is the most obvious and the most followed organization choice used by many music lovers. It’s how libraries organize their books and other records. This method is for people who like efficiency and want to categorize their records like crazy. Pun intended! Such an organization works well with only a few people who get into the minutest details when doing a task. Rest can follow other measures to keep their sanity intact.

Note: Ideally, experts recommend going for alphabetical order. But if you want to do something different, you can organize according to the artist’s name, the colour of the record (but that would sound crazy. Isn’t it?)

Final Thoughts

Music is the essence of life. No doubt about that! So having a library for the records is no big deal. But if you have only 10-20 records, you can simply keep them in a box. There is no point in wasting your energy in organizing them.

You can also go for wooden crates or use basic alphabetical order to keep your records in proper order. After all, one or 100, having a vinyl record is a special feeling that no digital track can provide you.
