Fun Ways to Document Your Family Travels
When you have a family, travelling doesn’t need to mean just heading to the same all-inclusive year on year and not exploring. If you’re someone who likes to discover new places and really immerse yourself in a destination, this is more than feasible and you can bring your little ones in tow. When you do explore the world together, why not find a fun way to document your travels?
In this article, we take a look at some top ways you can document what you’ve done for you all to look back on in years to come.

Create a scrapbook for all the trips you do
A great way to document your travels as a family is to create a scrapbook for all the trips you do. You could all have a scrapbook each, or decide to make one as a family. This is a fun way to do a craft activity all together and also keep your mementoes from the places you visit. You can buy scrapbooks in more craft stores, supermarkets or online and the way you decide to do it is up to you!
You could dedicate a certain amount of pages for each destination that you visit, or even do a scrapbook for every place you do so you have a whole collection. Inside your scrapbook consider adding things such as photos (we love taking Polaroid photos for this!) as well as receipts, ticket stubs and any other items you collect when you are out and about in your destination. You could all write comments, do little drawings and write things such as special memories about the holiday you have just been on. These could be things you wouldn’t remember otherwise and make it a really special thing to have and look back on.
Create shared photo albums
While printed photos are a beautiful way to document your travels, it’s also a great idea to do digital shared ones. This way you can always have access to the photos and can get them printed out or just find them easily should you want to. There are many services you can use to share photos, from Google Photos to Apple Sharing. You can then label the albums with the name of your destination and dates and everyone can add in their own photos and videos from your trip. You could then sit together and watch a slideshow of all your memories!
If you’d rather have physical copies of your photos but don’t have the space for traditional photo albums, then a photobook is a brilliant way to enjoy them without taking up so much room or having to print out individual photos and then put them in an album!
Put stickers on your suitcase of all the destinations you visit
Another great way to document your family travels is by marking your suitcase with stickers on all the places you visit. You can either choose to buy stickers when you are out at your destination or use a site online where you can get Custom Stickers. These can be detailed with things such as the date of your trip and where you stayed.
It’s a brilliant way of marking your holiday with that bit more detail so you will never forget where you went and when. If you order them for the whole family, your suitcases will not only be super recognisable when coming out on the luggage belt but work as a functional souvenir for everywhere that you have been to!
Have a scratch off map
Scratch off maps are another great solution for documenting your travels. These can be purchased online and look fantastic up on the wall in your home. The way these work is that you scratch off the destination you’ve been to and another colour will show underneath the foil covering. It’s a beautiful art piece to go on the wall but also serves as a reminder of the places that you have been together.
Being a map, it’s also a fantastic way of inspiring you to visit more places, encouraging you to try somewhere new so you can scratch it off and get closer to completing more countries and ticking them off your list!
These are just a few things you can do that can help you document your travels in a fun and interesting way. There’s nothing more special than in years to come, looking back at everything you’ve done, where you’ve gone and what you have achieved along the way. It’s a fantastic way to bond and share memories forever. What are some top tips and ideas you have for documenting your family travels? Let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
