These non-human companions act as emotional support for humans. Some people who suffer from mental health disorders are suggested to keep a pet at their home as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA).

It has been proven that dogs are the best companions. And not only that, studies suggest that dog owners have lower risks of heart disease and blood pressure issues. They can also reduce your stress and anxiety by increasing the presence of happy hormones.

Let’s see how these pups creatures are making us happy!

You will never feel alone

Imagine you are sitting at your home and a cute creature is roaming around you. We know you can’t ignore their cuddles and slobbery kisses. Puppies stick their nose on your face and ask for attention, and who can resist booping their nose?

People have admitted that they have overcome the heartbreak and the loss of their loved ones with their pet dog’s help. Records say people who own doggos laugh more compared to the ones who don’t have one.

Their wagging tail will help you make new friends

If you ever see a cute dog walking while wagging his tail, wouldn’t you like to go and smudge that smushy cute little face? This is how dog owners make friends more quickly than others.

Dogs make people social. People with pets are likely to go out and walk more. While walking on roads with their dogs, they encounter other pets and their owners on the way and get to know each other.

Dogs can help keep your anxiety away

Just making eye contact with your four-legged friend can make you feel happier and releases oxytocin (a good-feeling chemical) in your body. Studies show that people who own dogs feel less depressed and have higher self-esteem.

Due to these facts, dogs are preferred as an emotional support animal by psychologists. According to American Service Pets, these creatures have the potential to meet the emotional needs of a person. People who feel a lack of emotional support and have mental conditions can accompany them and heal better.

Taking your furry partner for a walk will make you active

Laziness and lack of activity will always make you feel a bit rubbish and lethargic. If you have a dog at home as your companion then you will have to take them out for a walk. People who take their dogs out for a walk are more likely to meet the standard of regular exercise.

It is needless to say that you will feel more active and fresh if you go for a walk daily. It will boost your physical wellness and will keep you energetic throughout the day.
