When you have kids, especially young children, it can sometimes feel like there’s a never-ending cycle of housework and chores to do. When you’re a busy mum, your kids come first, so you might sometimes find that things can slide a little when it comes to keeping your house clean and tidy. However, you can have it all; below are three tips to help you keep on top of your housework.
This is one of the best ways to keep your home clean and tidy. If you just spend 30 minutes per day consistently, most of your cleaning jobs will be done. How you decide to do it is up to you. For example, you might decide to just work on one room per day, or you could choose two tasks to do daily, such as vacuuming or dusting and do the whole house. Another day, you might mop floors or change the bedding.
Make a list of your weekly cleaning jobs and make a routine of what to do on each day. You’ll find that by the time the weekend comes, your home will be looking pretty good and you won’t have a mountain of chores to do.
If your children have made a mess, ask them to help tidy their toys. Make a game of it, and they will soon learn that tidying can be fun. Older children can be encouraged to take some responsibility for chores, such as putting away their laundry and keeping their bedrooms tidy. Not only do they learn a valuable life lesson, but it will give them a sense of pride for their surroundings too.
