The FourFit Health Band | A Review

19th August 2018

I have been regularly exercising for a while now and I feel so much better when I have got my body moving, whether that’s at a spin class, half an hour at the gym, or a FitnessBlender workout at home. I love it for my body and my mind and however much I dread doing it, I always feel much better afterwards.

I love keeping track of my overall health too, so I was really pleased to have been sent a health band from FourFit. I have wanted a certain fitness tracker for ages but they are so expensive and I wasn’t sure if I really needed one, but the FourFit Health Band is only £49.00 which is a great price for something that does so much. It allows you to monitor your activity levels and various health markers so that you can track your progress against your goals.

I have been wearing the FourFit band for a couple of months now and I have really been enjoying using it. I love keeping track of my steps each day and I’m often surprised by how many I do, and it’s great to be able to check my heart rate and how much sleep I’ve had, including how much of it was a deep sleep (usually very little for me which is interesting and quite worrying). I also like using it to keep track of how active I’ve been on days when I’m not exercising.

I found the watch pretty straightforward to set up, and the USB charger connects easily and securely to it. The first time I charged it I thought it was taking ages but actually, it charges quickly, it just doesn’t show a full charge whilst it is still connected. There is one button below the screen which turns it on as well as allows you to toggle between the different modes. If you move it to heart rate for example, it will then take a measurement of that, and you can also set it up to take measurements every hour.

It all syncs with your phone and you can view all of the information from the day, week or month within the ‘Wearfit’ app that you download. You can also use the app to take extra measurements as well as set it up so that the watch vibrates when you get a call or text and it flashes up on the screen, which is pretty handy, especially if you usually keep your phone in your bag when you are out.

The health band is a really nice size and I find it really comfortable to wear. On a few of the really hot days we’ve had I did find it a bit sweaty and had to take it off, but as we so rarely get those burning hot days it’s not really a problem. I do find the screen really hard to see in bright sunlight, and a couple of times I’ve thought it had turned off, which is slightly annoying, but it hasn’t affected most of the times I’ve wanted to use it.

The FourFit Health Band monitors and tracks sleep, calories burned, steps, heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, fatigue, and also has a stopwatch and can track GPS. You can also use the app to take a photo, just by shaking your wrist! There is also a vibrating alarm that you can set so that it wakes you during your lightest period of sleep which is so clever! It is also water resistant so you can use it for swimming in cold water which is great.

It doesn’t need to be connected to bluetooth constantly either – it will transfer all your data once it is reconnected to your phone, which is great if you don’t like to take your phone into the gym, for example.

The battery lasts pretty well – I’d say I get about 3-4 days out of it before it gets low but I just usually take it off and attach it to my laptop whilst I sit and work so I’m not missing out on it tracking things.

The bits I use the most are the step counter and the sleep monitoring, as well as just for the time, although I do also really like checking my heart rate at different times! The sleep tracking is really interesting, although it is pretty shocking how little I seem to get, particularly deep sleep which is worrying. I thought I slept pretty well last night compared to usual, but the app tells me I only got 5 hours and 47 minutes sleep, with only 19 minutes of that being deep sleep, and I apparently woke up 3 times!

I’ve needed to get my sleep (or severe lack of) sorted for a while so seeing how bad it really is on this watch has motivated me to try and work on it. It has also made me move more because if I’m close to 10,000 steps in a day I will walk or dance about the house to get it up there!

I’ve really been enjoying wearing and using my FourFit Health Band; it has encouraged me to keep going that little bit further on the running machine and try to get extra steps in each day, and I like how it encourages me to pay more attention to my overall health. It’s a great, low price health band at only £49.00, particularly compared to others on the market, and it has a really good range of functions.

I was sent the FourFit Health Band to review, but all words and opinions are my own. Read my full disclosure policy here.
